FAQ

What is Poison Water?

Poison Water is a simple set of tools for creators. Upload your own audio to generate controlled variations and alternate takes, and protect tracks from being used for AI training. It’s built for musicians and producers who want modern tools without giving up control.

Does Poison Water use my audio to train AI?

No. Your uploads are used only to run the processing you request. Poison Water does not build a library from your work, and your audio is not used for training.

What does “Poison Mode” actually do?

Poison Mode processes your audio so it can’t be cleanly used for AI training, while still sounding right to listeners. Anyone who scrapes it risks degrading their own models. The goal is to make unauthorised scraping a liability, not a business model.

What kind of audio can I upload, and what can I do with the outputs?

You can upload MP3 or WAV files, as long as you own the rights to the audio or have permission to use it. The processed outputs are yours to use in your own compositions and productions, however in Lab Mode they can’t be repackaged, redistributed, or sold as standalone audio files (for example as sample packs or libraries). Outputs include embedded identifiers for abuse prevention and license enforcement.

What’s the difference between Lab Mode and Poison Mode?

Lab Mode is for generating variations, textures, and alternate takes from your own audio. Poison Mode is for protecting full tracks or finished exports when you don’t want variations. All outputs are protected by default, the difference is whether you’re creating new material (Lab) or protecting what you already have (Poison).

What happens to my files after I upload them?

Your audio is used only to run the processing you request. We don’t build a library from your uploads, and we don’t use your audio for training. Files are not shared publicly and stored temporarily.

Will Poison Water change how my music sounds?

Poison Water is designed to keep audio sounding identical to listeners. Depending on the material and processing settings, very subtle changes may be present, but the goal is protection without compromising the feel of the track.

Can I use the Lab outputs commercially in my own music?

Yes, as long as you have the rights to the original audio you upload. You can use Lab outputs in your own productions and releases, but you can’t resell or redistribute them as standalone audio files, sample packs, libraries, or sound collections.
